Betwixedmass

When I started this blog entry I wanted to express how much I have enjoyed the week between Christmas and New Year. Betwixmass is a magical time – pressure of the Christmas build-up removed it is a time to enjoy the cruise into New Year celebrations. As I started to type however I realised that then fails to recognise contributions by people made in the last month, three months, 6 months, remainder of the year. In the weeks leading up to Christmas I was very excited to receive and able to exchange tokens of appreciation, words and gestures. A few surprises on Christmas eve caught me blindsided, leaving me early evening overwhelmed with tears in my eyes. Towards the end of a mini-sprint to get things in place for my own Christmas Day, although I knew I would be up late wrapping presents everything built-up I had to sit down to take everything in.

I spent a great Christmas has involved catching up with family, as well as being able to do many of the things I usually do. I very much enjoyed the week between Christmas and New Year, a time to cruise into New Year with everything in place. I had a fun time mixing all the different ways in which I now interact with clients. New Year’s Eve brought a few challenges in the form of dramatic Lake District weather, not enough to create catastrophe and the view of the cascading water down fellsides had me joyous as the wonderful resource I have right on my doorstep.

For New Year I opted out of big celebrations I never liked crowds, I did and always have liked dancing to good music, but the pandemic has taken away the attraction of music nights in pubs and other venues. New Years Day I spent with less than a handful of people close to me, people who are very important. I do not need a crowd, just the important people at that time.
